Concerning Word of God in christianity, The ‘Real’ Word of God is in fact a Living Person and not letters nor sentences. In debate between Nabeel w/ Shabeer Ali , Shabeer attempted to attack and equate islamic understanding of Word of God with Christian’s understanding where every letters and sentences somehow in ‘mystical way’ contains the ‘essence’ of Eternal Uncreated DivineWord. This belief is clearly rejected by christianity ; because The Letters alone are USELESS even HARMFUL without the Spirit . ( 2 Cor 3:6 ) ‘He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant–not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the LETTER KILLS, but the Spirit gives life.’

Letters and sentences in the bible are being called Word of God not because they ‘contain’ the eternal uncreated Word in some weird mystical way like what the muslims’s believe but instead they are called Word of God because they just ‘representing’ and NOT ‘containing’ the Eternal Word. Again referring to 2 Cor 3:6, Letters and sentences in the bible will not function properly as TOOL for REPRESENTING the ‘Living’ Word of God without the Holy Spirit guidance.

How about the Voice of God ? Voice is certainly different from ‘letters’ , all we could say Voice is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit .
