There are two cases in my observations where i highly suspect the Mutawatir system was unfairly implemented :

1) The rejection of Ibn Mas’ud version of Surah The Night : 92 . Because as we all can see in the Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 57, Number 105 that you show up there in your explanation , there are at least three Muhammad’s companions , two persons directly (Alqama and Abu Darda) and one person indirectly ( Ibn Masud) , that witnessed the validity of Ibn Masud version of Surah The Night : 92 . Even more Abu Darda emphasized this by swore to Allah that he heard the same recitation from the mouth of Muhammad’s himself . So if Mutawatir system had been fairly implemented then Ibn Masud’s version should’ve been inserted in Quran. But apparently because Ibn Masud’s version was different from Uthman’s version then Ibn Masud’s version had been rejected .

2) The rejection of two extra surahs of Ubay ibn Kab , Surah al-Hafd and Surah al-Khal

From reading Ahmad von Denffer’s book ( Ulum al Qur’an: An Introduction to the Sciences of the Qur’an ) i notice within Von Denffers’s explanation where he excerpted from Jalaludin As-Suyuti’s books that tell us the two extra Surahs ( Surah a-Hafd and al-Khal) of Ubay ibn Kaab’s mushaf that had been rejected by Uthman in fact were also written within the mushafs of at least two other Muhammad’s companion , Abu Musa al-Azhari and Ibn Abbas. Strangely while the two extra Surahs had 3 witnesses along with the written proofs within each of their mushafs but somehow for no explainable reason still those two extra surahs were rejected by Uthman .
