ALLAH’S PRE-CREATION CREATIONS?

MORE OF ISLAM’S INCOHERENCE EXPOSED

The Quran states that Allah created the seven heavens and seven flat earths, and all the things which exist within them, in six days:

Surely your Lord is God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days — THEN sat Himself upon the Throne, covering the day with the night it pursues urgently — and the sun, and the moon, and the stars subservient, by His command. Verily, His are the creation and the command. Blessed be God, the Lord of all Being. S. 7:54 Abrerry

Surely your Lord is God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, THEN sat Himself upon the Throne, directing the affair. Intercessor there is none, save after His leave that then is God, your Lord; so serve Him. Will you not remember? S. 10:3

God is He that created the heavens and the earth, and what between them is, in six days, THEN seated Himself upon the Throne. Apart from Him, you have no protector neither mediator; will you not remember? S. 32:4 Arberry

And verily We created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in six Days, and naught of weariness touched Us. S. 50:38 Pickthall

It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge. S. 65:12 Hilali-Khan

(Allah it is Who hath created seven heavens) one above the other like a dome, (and of the earth the like thereof) seven earths BUT THEY ARE FLAT. (The commandment cometh down among them slowly) He says: He sends the angels down from heaven with revelation, Scripture and calamities, (that ye may know) and acknowledge (that Allah is Able to do all things) relating to the dwellers of the heavens and the earths, (and that Allah surroundeth all things in knowledge) and that His knowledge encompasses everything’. (Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=73&tSoraNo=65&tAyahNo=12&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2; bold and capital emphasis mine)

According to Muhammad b. Sahl b. ‘Askar-Isma’il b. ‘Abd al-Karim-Wahb, mentioning some of his majesty (as being described as follows): The heavens and the earth and the oceans are in the haykal, and the haykal is in the Footstool. God’s feet are upon the Footstool. He carries the Footstool. It became like a sandal on His feet. When Wahb was asked: What is the haykal? He replied: Something on the heavens’ extremities that surrounds the earth and the oceans like ropes that are used to fasten a tent. And when Wahb was asked how earths are (constituted), he replied: They are seven earths that are FLAT and islands. Between each two earths, there is an ocean. All that is surrounded by the (surrounding) ocean, and the haykal is behind the ocean. (History of Al-Tabari-General Introduction and From the Creation to the Flood, translated by Franz Rosenthal [State University of New York Press (SUNY), Albany, NY 1989], Volume 1, pp. 207-208; bold emphasis mine)

And yet Allah must have forgotten the exact number of days it took him to bring the entire creation into being since elsewhere he claims that he created all things in eight days (2+4+6=8):

Say: ‘What, do you disbelieve in Him who created the earth in two days, and do you set up compeers to Him? That is the Lord of all Being. And He set therein firm mountains over it, and He blessed it, and He ordained therein its diverse sustenance in four days, equal to those who ask.’ THEN He lifted Himself to heaven when it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth, “Come willingly, or unwillingly!” They said, “We come willingly.” So He determined them as seven heavens in two days, and revealed its commandment in every heaven.’ S. 41:9-12 Arberry

However, the problem is much worse than the number of days it took the Islamic deity to create all things, or the order in which he created them.

According to the following verse Allah’s throne was suspended upon water even while Allah was creating the seven heavens and seven earths:

He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six days, while His Throne was upon the water, that He may try you as to which of you is most virtuous in deed. Yet if thou sayest, “Truly you shall be resurrected after death,” the disbelievers will surely say, “This is naught but manifest sorcery!” S. 11:7

7 For the creation of the heavens and the earth in six days, see 7:54c. Quranic references to the six days of creation (cf. 7:54; 10:3; 25:59; 32:4; 50:38; 57:4) are often followed by the statement that God then mounted the Throne (10:3; 25:59; 32:4). Since the verse implies that God’s Throne was upon the water (cf. Genesis 1:2) WHILE the creation of the heavens and the earth was taking place, al-Rāzī notes that upon here does not indicate physical space, since God’s Throne could not be physically on the water if the heavens and the earth had not yet come into being. Thus, one possible meaning of His Throne was upon the water could be to indicate the manner in which the heavens came about without any physical support below them (R), similar to what is expressed in 13:2: God it is Who raised the heavens without pillars that you see, then mounted the Throne. The allegedly sound narrations attributed to Muhammad and the exegesis of some of Sunni Islam’s greatest commentators claim that Allah’s throne, the water which the throne was suspended on, the air/wind which kept the water afloat, and the clouds which were beneath Allah were already in existence from before Allah created the heavens and earth:

3019. It is related that ‘Imran ibn Husayn said, “I visited the Prophet and hobbled my camel at the door. Some people of Banu Tamim came and he said, ‘Accept the good news, Banu Tamim!’ They said twice, ‘You have given us good news, so give us something.’ Then some of the people of Yemen came in to him and he said, Accept the good news, O people of Yemen, since Banu Tamim have not accepted it.’ They said, ‘We accept, Messenger of Allah. We have come to you to ask you about this matter.’ He said, ‘There was Allah and there was nothing but Him, and His Throne was on the water. He wrote everything in the Remembrance (the Tablet) and He created the heavens and the earth.’ Then someone called out, ‘Your she-camel has gone, Ibn al-Husayn!’ So I went and could not see her because of the mirage. By Allah, I wish that I had left her!” (Aisha Bewley, The Sahih Collection of al-Bukhari, Chapter 63. Book of the Beginning of Creation; bold emphasis mine)

XXII. “When His Throne was on the water.” (11:7) “And He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne” (27:26)

Abu’l-‘Aliyya said that “established Himself “(istawa) on the Throne” means “is high” and “made them (sawwahunna) into seven heavens” (2:29) means “created them”.

Mujahid said that istawa means “to be high over the Throne”.

Ibn ‘Abbas said that Majid (85:15) means “Noble” and Wadud (85:14) means “Loved.” One says “hamîdun majîdun” as if it was the fa’îl form of mâjid and praised (mahmud) comes from hamida.

6982. Safwan ibn Muhriz related that ‘Imran ibn Husayn said, “I was with the Prophet when some people from the Banu Tamim came to him. He said, ‘Banu Tamim, accept the good news!’ they said, ‘You have given us good news, so give us something.’ Some of the people of Yemen entered and he said, ‘Accept the good news, people of Yemen since Banu Tamim have not accepted it!’ They said, ‘We accept. We have come to you to learn about the deen and to ask you about how this business [the creation of the world] began.’ He said, ‘There was Allah and nothing was before Him. His Throne was on the water. ThenHe created the heavens and the earth and wrote everything in the Remembrance [the Preserved Tablet].’ Then a man came and said, ”Imran! Catch your camel. It has gone.’ I went to look for it and could not see her because of the mirage. By Allah, I wish that it had gone and I had stayed!” (Ibid., 100. Book of Tawhid (the belief that Allah is One in His Essence, Attributes and Actions); bold emphasis mine)

And He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six days the first of which was Sunday and the last Friday — and His Throne BEFORE CREATING THEM was upon the water borne by the winds — that He might try you li-yabluwakum is semantically connected to khalaqa ‘He Who created’ in other words He created them and all that is beneficial and good for you in them in order to test you which of you is best in conduct that is which of you is most obedient to God. And if you were to say O Muhammad (s) to them ‘Truly you shall be raised again after death’ those who disbelieve will say ‘This Qur’ān that speaks of resurrection — or this that you are saying — is nothing but manifest clear sorcery’ sihrun a variant reading has sāhirun ‘sorcerer’ in which case the reference is to the Prophet. (Tafsir al-Jalalayn https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=74&tSoraNo=11&tAyahNo=7&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2; bold and capital emphasis mine)

(And He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days) six days of the beginning of this world: each day the equivalent of one thousand years, the first day being Sunday and the last Friday (and His Throne) BEFORE the creation of the heavens and earth (was upon the water) and Allah was before the Throne and before water (that He might try you) that He may test you in the interval between life and death, (which of you is best in conduct) which of you is more sincere in his works. (Yet if thou (O Muhammad) sayst) to the people of Mecca: (Lo! ye will be raised again) you will be brought back to life again (after death! those who disbelieve) the disbelievers of Mecca (will surely say: This) which Muhammad is saying (is naught but mere magic) manifest lies which will never happen. (Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=0&tTafsirNo=73&tSoraNo=11&tAyahNo=7&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=2; bold and capital emphasis mine)

Allah created the Heavens and the Earth in Six Days

Allah, the Exalted, informs of His power over all things, and that He created the heavens and the earth in six days. He mentions that His Throne was over the water BEFORE THAT, just as Imam Ahmad recorded that `Imran bin Husayn said, “The Messenger of Allah said…

<<Accept the glad tidings, O tribe of Tamim!>> They said, `Verily you have brought us glad tidings and you have given us.’ Then he said…

<<Accept the glad tidings, O people of Yemen!>> They said, `We accept. Therefore, inform us about the beginning of this matter and how it was.’ He said…

<<Allah was before everything and His Throne was over the water. He then wrote in the Preserved Tablet mentioning everything.>> Then a man came to me and said, “O `Imran, your she camel has escaped from her fetter.” I then went out after her and I do not know what was said after I left.” This Hadith has been recorded in the Two Sahihs of Al-Bukhari and Muslim with a variety of wordings. In Sahih Muslim, it is recorded that `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As said that the Messenger of Allah said…

<<Verily Allah measured the amount of sustenance of the creatures fifty thousand years BEFORE He created the heavens and the earth, and His Throne was over the water.>> Under the explanation of this verse, Al-Bukhari recorded from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah said…

<<Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said, `Spend and I will spend on you.’>> And he said…

<<Allah’s Hand is full, and it is not diminished by spending throughout the night and the day.>> He also said…

<<Have you seen what has been spent since the creation of the heavens and the earth Verily it does not diminish what is in His Right Hand (in the slightest) and His Throne was over the water. In His Hand is the Scale and he lowers and raises it.>> Concerning Allah’s statement… (Tafsir Ibn Kathir https://www.alim.org/quran/tafsir/ibn-kathir/surah/11/7; bold and capital emphasis mine)

The foregoing introduces a major dilemma for Muslims. The creation of the heavens and earths involves the creation of the space-time-matter continuum, which means there was neither time, nor place, nor space prior to that moment.

In other words, prior to the heavens and earth, there wasn’t such a thing as creation, since creation began when the heavens and the earth were brought into existence.

In fact, even the hadiths confirm this point. Note, for instance, what the following narration states:

The Book of the Sunnah

(13) Chapter: Concerning what the Jahmiyyah denied (i.e., seeing Allah in the Hereafter, etc.)

Waki’ bin Hudus narrated that his paternal uncle Abu Razin said: “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, where was our Lord before He created HIS CREATION (‘ayn kan rabuna qabl ‘an yakhluq khaliqatah)?‘ He said: He was above the clouds, below which was air, and above which was air and water. THEN He created His Throne above the water.'”

English translation: Vol. 1, Book 1, Hadith 182 (Sunnah.com https://sunnah.com/ibnmajah:182; bold, capitalized and italicized emphasis mine)

Pay close attention to Abu Razin’s question since it shows that he was aware that creation came into being when Allah created the heavens and the earth.

It, therefore, makes absolutely no sense to assert, as the Quran and Muhammad do, that Allah’s throne, water, clouds, and wind/air were there prior to creation. After all, created objects require space and place and would be composed of some material form/substance. And seeing there was nothing spatial or material before creation, how could such objects exist?

Therefore, how much sense does it even make for Muhammad to speak of something being above or below anything when there were no spatial dimensions prior to creation? And how could something like the throne have been created before creation existed when this would make it a part of creation itself?

Does this mean that Muhammad erroneously believed in pre-creational created objects? If so, do Muslims really want to accept that their prophet held to beliefs that are logical contradictions and rationally incoherent?

In light of all this, isn’t it time for Muslims to come to their senses and accept the fact that Muhammad was not a prophet, the Quran is not the word of God, and Allah of Islam is not the true God? Hasn’t the time come for them to come home to the only true God revealed in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ and study the only book he has ever inspired, namely, the Holy Bible?

“‘So Jesus said, ‘When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.’ Even as he spoke, many believed in him. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’ They answered him, ‘We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?’ Jesus replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.’” John 8:28-36 New International Version (NIV)
