The divine Scriptures explicitly testify that Jehovah created the heavens and the earth all by himself, and did not have any spirit creature assisting him:

“Then Job answered and said, I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God? If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand. He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered? Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger. Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars. Which ALONE spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea. Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south. Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.” Job 9:1-10

“Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens ALONE; that spreadeth abroad the earth BY MYSELF;” Isaiah 44:24

The God-breathed revelations are equally clear that all of the created spirit sons of God were there passively observing Jehovah fashioning the earth all by himself:

“Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; when the morning stars sang together, and ALL THE SONS OF GOD (kal bene elohim) shouted for joy? Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, and brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,” Job 38:1-10

What this means is that if Jesus is a mere spirit creature, in fact the first spirit son that Jehovah created as the cults like the Jehovah’s Witnesses teach, then he too would have been nothing other than a passive observer beholding his Father creating all things by himself. Christ would not have played any role in creating any aspect of the heavens and the earth.

However, the inspired Scriptures teach the exact opposite since they proclaim that it was Christ whom the Father appointed to create and sustain the entire creation:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made BY HIM; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men… He was in the world, and the world was made BY HIM, and the world knew him not… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth… No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” John 1:1-4, 10, 14, 18

The Bible even goes as far as to say that the Son created all things for himself:

“who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for BY HIM were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created BY HIM, and FOR HIM: and he is before all things, and BY HIM all things consist.” Colossians 1:15-17

To say that this is a remarkable assertion would be to put it mildly, since the Old Testament plainly teaches that all things were created for Jehovah:

“I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him FOR MY GLORY, I have formed him; yea, I have made him… The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. This people have I formed FOR MYSELF; they shall shew forth my praise.” Isaiah 43:6-7, 20-21

As if this weren’t shocking enough, note what the book of Hebrews says:

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, BY WHOM also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word OF HIS POWER, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high… And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD worship him… But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O GOD (ho Theos), is for ever and ever… And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works OF THINE HANDS: they shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; and as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.” Hebrews 1:1-3, 6, 8a, 10-12

Not only does the inspired author describe Jesus as the Son who created all things, and sustains all creation by his own powerful word, and whom all the angels are commanded to worship, being the God who rules forever, but he also took the following Psalm, which identifies Jehovah as the unchanging Creator and Sustainer of the entire creation,

“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee… thou, O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations… Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.” Psalm 102:1, 12, 25-27

And applied it to the Son!

This, therefore, proves that Jesus is no mere created spirit son of God. Rather, Christ is the very Jehovah God whom all the created angelic sons of God observed fashioning the earth, which is why Paul could ascribe to Christ what the Psalmist in Psalm 102 said concerning Jehovah.

After all, if Jesus were one of these spirit creatures then he could not have created anything, since the passages we cited above are explicitly clear in proclaiming that Jehovah alone created all things. As we saw, all of God’s heavenly creatures were nothing more than passive observers who beheld Jehovah their God laying the foundation of the earth, and rejoiced because of it.

Hence, the testimony of the inspired Christian Scriptures is that the Jehovah whom the created angelic beings observed forming the earth is the very One who eventually became flesh in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. There’s simply no way around this.

Here I am going to cite the same verses from the New World Translation (NWT) of the Jehovah’s Witnesses (JWs) in order to show how one can use even this perversion of God’s Word to teach this same revealed truth about Christ. “He spreads out the heavens BY HIMSELF, And he treads upon the high waves of the sea.” Job 9:8

“Where were you when I founded the earth? “This one was in the beginning with God.  All things came into existence THROUGH HIM, and apart FROM HIM not even one thing came into existence. What has come into existence BY MEANS OF HIM was life, and the life was the light of men… He was in the world, and the world came into existence THROUGH HIM, but the world did not know him… So the Word became flesh and resided among us, and we had a view of his glory, a glory such as belongs to an only-begotten son from a father; and he was full of divine favor and truth.” John 1:2-4, 10, 14

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; because BY MEANS OF HIM all other things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All other things have been created THROUGH HIM and FOR HIM.  Also, he is before all other things, and BY MEANS OF HIM all other things were made to exist,” Colossians 1:15-17

{Note. The Society inserted the word “other” four times in this passage in order to hide the fact that Paul plainly taught that Christ created the whole entire creation. This can be easily verified from the JWs’ very own interlinear of the Greek New Testament, which can be accessed here https://www.jw.org/en/publications/bible/kingdom-interlinear-greek-translation/books/colossians/1/. As the readers can see, the Greek text that the Society uses does not have “other” in these verses. Rather, even their own preferred Greek version of the NT plainly says that Jesus created and sustains all things, not all OTHER things.

With that said, the JWs are still left in a dilemma since even their own perversion of the sacred Scriptures affirms that Christ is the One through whom the Father made and sustains the heavens and the earth. Yet, as the passages from the OT emphatically testify, no created son of God assisted Jehovah in creating any part of the creation. Therefore, the JWs are still left with an irreconcilable contradiction between their beliefs and with what the Holy Bible teaches.}

“Now at the end of these days he has spoken to us by means of a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and THROUGH WHOM he made the systems of things. He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact representation of his very being, and he sustains all things by the word OF HIS POWER. And after he had made a purification for our sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high… But about the Son, he says: ‘God is your throne forever and ever, and the scepter of your Kingdom is the scepter of uprightness… At the beginning, O Lord, YOU laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works OF YOUR HANDS. They will perish, but YOU will remain; and just like a garment, they will all wear out, and YOU will wrap them up just as a cloak, as a garment, and they will be changed. But YOU are the same, and YOUR YEARS will never come to an end.’” Hebrews 1:2-3, 8a, 10-12
