In this short post I am going to show from the Holy Bible that the Lord God himself magnifies his chosen servants, and even permits others to magnify them:
“And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to MAGNIFY thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.” Joshua 3:7
“On that day the LORD MAGNIFIED Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.” Joshua 4:14
“And the LORD MAGNIFIED Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.” 1 Chronicles 29:25
“And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people MAGNIFIED THEM.” Acts 5:12-13
The Lord God also permitted his inspired vessels and emissaries to be reverenced and glorified by the faithful in recognition of his great love for them:
“Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.” Revelation 3:9
“My son, fear thou the Lord AND THE KING: and meddle not with them that are given to change:” Proverbs 24:21
“And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the Lord your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, AND THE KING.” 1 Chronicles 29:20
“And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour (kabod) at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.” 2 Chronicles 32:33
The word kabod is often used for the glory of God:
“Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory (kabod) and strength.” Psalm 29:1
“Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory (kabod) and strength.” Psalm 96:7
We, therefore, have a biblical basis for honoring and magnifying God’s beloved and holy instruments whom the Lord of glory has used mightily for his glory throughout the earth.
